Libraries Announce New Class of Open Education Fellows

The University of Texas Libraries announces awardees for the Open Education Fellows Program.

This year’s fellows are Professor Chikako H. Cooke (Asian Studies), Professor Midori Tanaka, (Asian Studies), Dr. Simon J. Brandl (Marine Science), Dr. Jordan Casey (Marine Science), Dr. Sarah Jey Whitehead (Spanish and Portuguese), and Dr. Melissa D Murphy (Spanish and Portuguese). 

2024 Texas Conference on Digital Libraries Announced

The Texas Digital Library announces the 2024 Texas Conference on Digital Libraries taking place at the Commons Conference Center at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus, May 21-23, 2024. 

The goal of the Conference is to bring together those working on digital projects — including outreach librarians, repository managers, catalogers, faculty members, technical staff, and others — in order to build a practical, usable, and sustainable model for digital libraries. 

Libraries Partner in New Open Source Software Office To Support Researchers

AUSTIN, Texas — Open source code development has changed the face of science. It allows researchers to make publicly funded scientific research transparent, inclusive, accessible and reproducible.

To maximize the social and economic impact of open source software in research and education, The University of Texas at Austin has launched the Open Source Program Office, a central hub for open source activity, connection, training and support to enable open source practices as a key part of the University.
