Minimal Computing in the Age of AI

Dr. Gimena del Rio Riande, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Bibliographic Research and Textual Criticism of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET, Buenos Aires, Argentina), will explore how Minimal Computing can act as a counterbalance to the black-box nature of AI, creating spaces where Digital Humanities scholars, students, and communities retain control over both process and product.

She will present as case studies the minimal digital editions produced at CONICET's Digital Humanities lab to demonstrate how lightweight, open source, and accessible technologies can coexist with—yet critically interrogate—the rapid integration of AI tools into Digital Humanities.
