Position Title: Maps Senior Student Associate

Department: Access: Fine Arts, Humanities, & Global Studies Unit - Maps Department

Position is subject to renewal each semester.

Work Schedule: Flexible

Duties: 

  • Filing maps and check drawer organization
  • Shelving atlases, travel guides, and cartographic reference books
  • Stamp, label, and scan recently added maps
  • Withdrawing superseded maps
  • Catalog maintenance preparation
  • Pick up and count materials used in the Map Room
  • Assist patrons when possible
  • Special projects

Required Qualifications: 

  • UT Austin student enrolled in minimum of 6 credits for the spring 2026 semester
  • Familiarity with the office equipment
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills and detail oriented.
  • The ability to handle confidential matters and to be professional.
  • Willingness to tackle new projects.
  • Ability to work between 8-10 hours per week 

Working Conditions: Regular indoor working conditions.

Rate of Pay: $13.00/hour
