Position Title: Historical Music Recordings Collection Processing Project Assistant
Department: Fine Arts Library, RSDI

Position is subject to renewal each semester.
Work Schedule: 8-10 hours/week, flexible scheduling Monday-Friday between 9:00am-5:00pm
Duties:
- Create metadata for historic music recordings
- Create collection inventories/finding aids
- Review items against existing collections
- Assist with preservation tasks as needed
- Assist with entering materials into digital repository as needed
Required Qualifications:
- UT Austin student enrolled in minimum of 6 credits for the Fall 2025 semester.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Standard computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Excel or similar software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of classical music, opera, or other musical genres, and/or music history
- Knowledge of research methodologies and techniques
- Work experience in libraries, archives, or special collections
- Knowledge of preservation materials, practices, and theories

Working Conditions: Position involves working with archival collections in varying conditions and molds, dust, and other air-borne allergens may be present.
Rate of Pay: $15.00
