Anita Farber, Assistant Head

Farber has had a distinguished career in technical processing areas of the General Libraries. As team leader, she has overseen several projects to convert bibliographic, holding, and serial records to machine-readable form for use in library information systems. She served as the General Libraries CONSER coordinator to the Library of Congress from 1981 to 1989.

Farber holds a B.S. in education from Pennsylvania State University and M.L.S. from Louisiana State University and has previously worked at the University of Houston Libraries and at the Library of Congress. She joined the General Libraries in 1974. You know that when Anita's Leading the effort the job will be done and on time.

"where faculty and users cite his broad knowledge of information services and the geological literature, his willingness to go to any length to help students and faculty, his forward thinking, and practicality," Billing said. "As one faculty member puts it, it is unusual to have a person so professional and competent who is also very popular and liked."

Trombatore joined the General Libraries in 1985, after previously serving as coordinator of science collection development and physical sciences bibliographer at the University of Georgia, Athens; as common curriculum librarian ay Loyola University of the South; and librarian for the Mid-Louisiana Health Systems Agency, Baton Rouge. He holds a B.A. in philosophy and M.L.S. from Louisiana State University, as well as a certificate in health science librarianship.
