Research Library Cooperative Program
University of California Berkeley and Stanford University participants, please follow these instructions for gaining on site access to University of Texas Libraries resources.
Before your visit
Please be sure to obtain proof of your affiliation with UC Berkeley or Stanford and your current status as a graduate student, faculty or academic staff member. Proof of eligibility can be a photo ID card that matches your entry in your home university directory, a current class registration receipt or a letter from your privileges office at your home institution.
At UT Austin
Your first stop will be the Courtesy Borrower Services desk in the Perry-Castañeda Library (PCL), corner of 21st and Speedway. Upon entering PCL, go to the Research Help and Check Out, ask to be directed to Courtesy Borrower Services.
After verifying your eligibility, the Courtesy Borrower staff will help you create a UT electronic ID ( UT EID) and issue you a Courtesy Borrower card, which will allow you to check out items from the University of Texas Libraries* and access most of the electronic resources using one of the Libraries computer workstations. Please note that access to the campus wi-fi or remote access to electronic resources are not available and that some electronic resources are restricted to current University of Texas at Austin students, faculty and staff.
*Courtesy Borrower cards are not accepted at the Tarlton Law Library or other Centers with special collections on campus. For information about access to the Tarlton Law Library or other Centers on campus, please contact them directly.
