When you need to clarify an idea, it can often be helpful to review a textbook different from your own. PMA's Textbook Collection features older textbooks which are not currently in use in UT classes. These textbooks can offer a fresh perspective on a difficult concept and help supplement your required readings.
Textbook Collection materials can be checked out for 3 days. They cannot be renewed online. Please check the Catalog for availability.
Current UT course textbooks may be available on Course Reserve. Ask at the Circulation Desk or check the catalog for details.
The Textbook Collection is located to the left of the Circulation Desk near the computer work stations.
Finding Research Materials
All books at PMA are located on the Main Level. To find books in the PMA collection, search the UT Libraries Catalog by title, author, keyword, or subject and select Physics-Mathematics-Astronomy Library on the location drop-down menu.
Searching by Title, Author, or Date
If you are searching for a specific article, or if you are interested in all articles by a particular author, ScoUT Advanced Search allows for detailed searches by full or partial information in fields like Title, Author, Date, Publication, etc.
Searching by Topic
To find articles on a particular topic, you will need to search in a subject database or index. UT's database subscriptions can be browsed by subject here. The UT Libraries also offer research guides by subject which list the most commonly-used databases in each discipline; for further information, please see the research guides for Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy.
