Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Chicana Activists & Indigenous Languages
12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Perry-Castañeda Library

Perry-Castañeda Library, Learning Lab 2

Participants will get an introduction to Wikipedia editing while improving articles about Chicana activists whose collections are held at the Benson Latin American Collection and records about indigenous languages held at the Archive of the Indigenous Languages of Latin America. We will provide a list of indigenous languages from Latin America, women activists, artist, and scholars that need editing and/or translation in Wikipedia, as well as some resources and information that can be used to make edits and write articles. Participants are welcome to edit any Wikipedia page for any person and/or language that interests them.

Learn new digital skills and help make your University of Texas Libraries collections more discoverable along the way! No prior knowledge/experience or foreign language proficiency required—friendly Libraries staff will be offering step-by-step trainings on the different digital tools/platforms and supply laptops. This event is organized in celebration of National Library Week.
