Do you love the University of Texas at Austin?
Do you love books or do you know someone who does?
Do you want to honor or memorialize someone special?
Do you want to permanently demonstrate your love for UT?

If you answered yes to any of these, then we invite you to Adopt-a-Book in the University of Texas Libraries! Adopt-a-Book gifts are used to purchase new materials and to preserve, repair and provide greater access to the millions of items already part of the UT Libraries collection.

To Participate:

1: Select your book              2: Adopt your book by making your $375 gift

Your Adopt-a-Book gift of $375 helps support academic excellence at the University of Texas at Austin. Why $375? Because this is the lifelong cost of buying, shelving and preserving a book in our collection.

What do you get?

  • You select the book of your choice from UT Libraries online catalog.
  • Your name (or the name of your honoree or memorial) is permanently recognized in the catalog record of your book.
  • You will receive complimentary courtesy borrower privileges to all 12 UT Austin Libraries for one year.

Courtesy Borrower information:
These borrowers have access at library workstations to all electronic databases except those few restricted to University of Texas at Austin students, faculty and staff. They do not have remote access to databases or access to Interlibrary Services. Their cards are not accepted at the Jamail Center for Legal Research, the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center or The Center for American History. Questions about the use of those collections should be directed to the respective libraries.
