Event: You Are Here: Austin Represent. The event is free and open to the public.

When: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013.

Where: PCL Map Room in the Perry-Castañeda Library at The University of Texas at Austin.

Background: The University of Texas Libraries is launching a series of events to highlight the extensive cartography materials held in the university’s various collections.

“You Are Here” will take place four times annually and will feature items from cartography collections across campus.

The first installment of the series will focus on maps of Austin, all selected from the PCL Map Collection, the Alexander Architectural Archive and the Walter Geology Library.

Attendees can peruse over 100 years of Austin cartographic representations in the midst of the largest map collection on campus, the PCL Map Collection. The event will feature a digital display of how the university campus has grown, as well as map specialists from the Libraries who will be on hand to answer questions.

This event is free and open to the public. Free pizza (while it lasts) for attendees.
