Position Title: Benson Collection Development Graduate Student Technician

Position is subject to renewal each semester.

 

Work Schedule: Scheduled hours M-F, 19 hours/week as arranged with supervisor

Duties: Assist with gift processing, purchase processing, and collections acquitisions.  Tasks include: inventory review, de-depulication, location assignment, coordination of shipment/delivery, gathering of materials for cataloging, catalog review, location assignment, and working with bibliographers to complete the purchase of library resources. 

Required Qualifications: UT Austin graduate student enrolled in 6 or more credits in Fall 2022. Knowledge of Latin American and/or U.S. Latinx subject matter. Reading knowledge of Spanish. Proficiency in English. Excellent communication and organization skills.  Knowledge of or experience with Microsoft Office suite. Detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications: Strong internet searching skills with a particular ability to navigate library catalog and WorldCat. Reading knowledge of Portuguese. Previous experience working in a library. Experience with data entry.

Working Conditions: Regular indoor working conditions.

Rate of Pay: $15.00/hour
