Staff Suggested Proposals

Submit Date: 09/21/2004 Proposal No: 2004-001
Title/Subject: Regional Foundation Library (Hogg Foundation)
Specific Objective:
Desired outcome: relocate the Regional Foundation Library (Hogg Foundation for Mental Health) to University of Texas Libraries space on central campus. This is such a valuable resource for UT Austin, but it's hard to access in its current location. Has there been any consideration of moving it central to serve a larger population? Just a suggestion for consideration.
Reason(s) for Proposal:
Current situation: http://www.hogg.utexas.edu/RFL/default.html The Regional Foundation Library is currently located on Lake Austin Blvd. A central campus location would benefit those working on development issues.
Expected Libraries Administrative Action(s):
Physical Change
Response:
Over the past year, the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health, a part of the College of Liberal Arts, has reviewed its programs, facilities, and community services. As part of that review, discussions were held with the University of Texas Libraries about possible relocation of the Regional Foundation Library to the main campus. However, the Hogg Foundation has recently made the decision that the Regional Foundation Library will remain an operational program of the Hogg Foundation at its current Lake Austin Boulevard location.
