AUSTIN, Texas (January 18, 2008) —Margo Gutiérrez has been named interim head librarian for the Benson Latin American Collection, a unit of the University of Texas Libraries at The University of Texas at Austin. The appointment is effective Jan. 31, upon the retirement of Head Librarian Ann Hartness.

Just in time for end-of-semester projects, the University of Texas Libraries has launched a page of tools that make finding and utilizing information on the web a lot easier.

AUSTIN, Texas (August 31, 2007) —Beginning in August, members of the Texas Exes will have access to two valuable databases through a portal set up on the Texas Exes website.

AUSTIN, Texas (August 31, 2007) —A new space in the Perry–Castañeda Library funded by a $500,000 gift from the University Federal Credit Union will open at the end of August.

AUSTIN, Texas (August 28, 2007) —Due to the renovation of the LBJ Library Plaza, access to the Benson Latin American Collection and the Public Affairs Library will be altered throughout the duration of the project, expected to extend from September 2007 until June 2009.

AUSTIN, Texas (February 1, 2007) —The University of Texas Libraries has acquired a collection of materials belonging to Houston architect and Frank Lloyd Wright devotee Karl Kamrath (1911-1988).
