Historical Note

Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio (SDSA) started in February 2000 when seven members of San Antonio's LGBT community recognized a need for the community to come together to be heard by and represented in the Democratic Party. Initially, the group was named the Stonewall Democratic Club-San Antonio. In 2003, the organization changed its name to Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio and elected a Board of Directors with Co-Chairs, a Secretary, Treasurer, and seven at-large members. SDSA is a chapter of the National Stonewall Democrats and an affiliate of the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus.
