Historical Note

University of Texas at San Antonio' Human Resources department manages all employee hiring, training, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and leave administration for the university.

The University of Texas at San Antonio's Problemsolving/Conflict Resolution Program was established in 1992 as an alternative to the formal resolution of problems involving the institution as well interpersonal conflicts among faculty, staff, and students. The program provided information to faculty, staff, and student related to conflict management issues, one-on-one consultations with administrators for solving interpersonal conflict, mediation services, and organized group training sessions on resolving conflict in the work or learning environment. The program also provided guidance and training sessions related to affirmative action, equal opportunity, wages, tenure and promotion, academic requirements, and academic freedom issues.

Collection consists of subject files, brochures, presentations, and the university liaison handbook and mediation training manual and document the university's conflict resolution and mediation program between 1992-2005. The collection is organized into four series: and Conflict resolution, Presentations, Publications,Subject files.
