Communication courses were offered under the Division of English, Classics, and Philosophy until the Department of Communication was formed in 2002.

Historical Note
Communication courses were originally categorized as English courses in the Division of English, Classics, and Philosophy. In 1976, communication courses were offered separately in the Division of English, Classics, and Philosophy. The Department of Communication was formed in 2002.
UTSA began offering a minor in communication in 1994, and a Bachelor of Arts in communication in 1996. It began offering graduate level communication courses in 1999, and offered a Master of Arts in communication starting in 2005.
Scope and Content Note
The collection is composed of 0.2 linear feet of syllabi from Communication 1043 (Introduction to Communication), 1984 to 1995; Communication 3113 (Argumentation and Debate), 1986; English 1013 (Freshman Composition) 1978-1980; English 1023 (Critical Reading and Writing I), 1985; English 1033 (Critical Reading and Writing II), 1981-1986. The syllabi are from sections of these courses taught by Quinton Dale Davis, Roy (Skip) Eno, Barbara Imboden, and Nelda Pisors.
This collection is housed at UTSA's HemisFair Park Campus, though off-site
access is also available at UTSA's John Peace Library.
