University of Texas at San Antonio Libraries Special Collections
The Classified Staff Affairs Committee of the University of Texas at San Antonio Library formed in 2004 to advocate for the library's classified employees (at-will employees who serve without tenure) and to act as a liaison between the classified employees and the library's administration. The committee also sponsored events, forums, and meetings of interest to library staff, as well as other functions. The committee met approximately monthly.
The collection includes the committee's charge, minutes, bylaws, and printouts of digital photographs of meet and greet events.
Historical NoteThe Classified Staff Affairs Committee of the University of Texas at San Antonio Library formed in 2004. The committee (CSAC) reports to the Dean of Libraries. A 2006 website printout from the Library's intranet states that CSAC's charge is as follows:- To act as a liaison between the classified staff and the Library administration.
- To bring to the attention of the administration issues concerning classified staff requiring administrative attention.
- To serve as the group to which the administration may bring issues and problems concerning classified staff for discussion and recommendation.
- To make written recommendations for changes of activities, procedures, and policies to the library administration.
- To promote staff communication.
- To sponsor special events, forums, and meetings of interest to library staff.
- To administer elections of the Classified Staff Affairs Committee.
Meetings were held approximately once a month. The CSAC comprised library employees from both the Main Campus and Downtown Campus libraries.
Classified staff are defined in the University of Texas at San Antonio Handbook of Operating Procedures as at-will employees who serve without tenure.

This collection is housed at UTSA's HemisFair Park Campus, though off-site access is also available at UTSA's John Peace Library.
