Historical Note
The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Library was established in 1973, the first year students were admitted to the new university.
The Assistant Dean for Computer Systems was Sue Tyner. Sue Tyner joined the UTSA Library staff circa 1987. In 2004, the UTSA Library was divided into five areas, with an assistant dean overseeing each: Collections and Extended Services, Technical Services, Public Services, Computer Systems, and Business Operations. Before becoming the Assistant Dean for Computer Systems, Tyner was the Assistant Director for Technical Services and Automated Systems. After Tyner left the University, the position became Head of Library Systems, with the position still reporting to the Dean of Libraries.
Scope and Content Note
The collection includes correspondence and memoranda; minutes of Library Technical Services division meetings, Librarians' meetings, and University Assembly meetings; strategic planning documents; Library newsletters including Library Focus and UTSA Library News ; documents of the Salary Committee; materials pertaining to Library renovations, reports, position descriptions, and other materials.
This collection is housed at UTSA's HemisFair Park Campus, though off-site access is also available at UTSA's John Peace Library.
