Founded in 1901, the Tuesday Musical Club is the oldest music club for women in Texas. It was founded in 1901 by Anna Goodman Hertzberg, a graduate of the New York Conservatory of Music. There were six charter members who joined for the purpose of performing and discussing classical music. A year later the membership grew to 15. Today, the organization has 250 members and seven departments for member performance and community outreach. The Club promotes and supports the performance and discussion of classical music.
