Biographical Note
John D. Fletcher was born in 1936 in Overton, Texas. He received bachelor and master's degrees in social studies from Sul Ross State University. He married Esther Clark in 1959 and the couple soon moved to San Antonio to teach at Fox Tech High School. Fletcher taught history and government and was involved with the school band. He died in April 1963 of myocarditis.
