Historical Note

The San Antonio Council for the Cooperation of Engineering and Scientific Societies (SACCESS) is a forum to facilitate communication and coordination between local chapters of engineering and scientific professional societies.

After years of ad hoc cooperation during National Engineers Week activities throughout the 1970s and 1980s, several technical groups decided to establish a more formal coordinating body. Ten societies participated in the Joint Technical Societies Meeting held in October 1988 at Sea World of Texas. The name and acronym of SACCESS were devised in early 1989. Incorporation under the laws of Texas was accomplished in August 1989 using the name and acronym of SACCESS.
