Biographical

Rosalie Hollenbeck Laxton was born in 1928 in Hennessee, Oklahoma to Clifford and Dorothy Hollenbeck. Shortly after her graduation from St. Anthony High School in Okmulgee, Oklahoma she married Gideon Checote. The couple had 2 daughters. In 1962, she married William Laxton.

Rosalie Laxton worked for 31 years in civil service with the Air Force, Army, Navy and NASA. She was a member and president of the Federally Employed Women, an active member of her church, and more recently, an artist and docent and the River Art Group and New Braunfels Art League.
