Historical Note

Patriot Heights is a planned community located at 5000 Fawn Meadow, San Antonio, Texas 78240 that offers a choice of living arrangements for senior citizens. Patriot Heights mission is to assist older adults of all faiths in achieving physical, intellectual, spiritual, emotional and social well-being. Patriot Heights has been a service unit of The National Benevolent Association of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since 1990 and its non-profit status as a 501c(3) organization in 1992.

The Patriot Heights Residents Association is a collection of residents who meet and discuss the happenings of their community. It is a volunteer organization with an elected board of officials. The group meets monthly to discuss everything from organizing potluck dinners to the quality of service at the healthcare center.

The association also produces a monthly newsletter and a weekly update.

Correspondence

The Correspondence series contains letters to and from the Residents Association concerning everything from issues in the dining hall to letters to community leaders. This series also contains thank you letters from the residents for various projects and initiatives held by the residents association, as well as general reminder memos sent out to all residents.

Healthcare

Residents Association

The Residents Association series contains minutes, agenda and correspondence from the Board Meetings (1990-2002) and the residents association meetings (1990-2002), as well as the treasurers’ reports (1992-2001). Also contained in this series are letters concerning the National Benevolent Association and meeting with the CEO Ted Moore. There is also information about the Residents Association programs such as their employee Christmas Gift Fund and general communications between members of the residents association.
