Historical Note

In the late 1980s, Ronald A. Carson, PhD, Director for the Institute for the Medical Humanities and Thomas A, Murray, PhD, also of the Institute, determined that a book review journal was needed for works in the Medical Humanities. The Medical Humanities Review was created to fill this need. Doctors Carson and Murray served as co-Editors and members of the Institute’s faculty determined the books to be reviewed and reviewers at the top of their fields were selected to complete the work. The publication began in 1987 and every year until 2005, two issues were produced, one in the spring and another in the fall. The Collection was donated to the Moody Medical Library in 2006.
