SERIES DESCRIPTION

Series 1 Research Files: Notes, Xerox copies, printed material collected by researchers. Arranged alphabetically.
Series 2 Rough Draft: Probably the first draft arranged in proposed chapter outline.
Series 3 Correspondence Concerning the Book: Incoming and outgoing letters, mostly by Mrs. Gay Eddy and to her from persons assisting with the research. Also, contract with U.T. Press.
Series 4 Later Drafts with Corrections and Revisions: These drafts were sent to various faculty members for their comments, corrections and revisions.
