COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

The Texas Alpha Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society was founded in 1920 with a charter membership of 13 medical students and 5 faculty members. The organization's motto is "To be worthy to serve the suffering." It aims to promote scholarship and research in medical schools, to encourage a high standard of character and conduct among medical students and graduates, and to recognize high attainment in medical science, practice and related fields. The records in this collection consist of correspondence, minutes, membership records, and programs. The records date 1920-1975 and occupy 1.75 linear feet of shelf space.
