1939 Received Ph.D., University of California (Pharmocology, minor Biochemistry).
1939-41 Instructor in Pharmacology, University of Oklahoma, School of Medicine.
1941-44 Associate Professor of Pharmacology, University of Georgia, School of Medicine.
1944-49 Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, University of California Medical School.
1949 Received M.D., University of California School of Medicine.
1949-51 Pharmacologist, Pitman-Moore Company.
1951-61 Associate Research Director, Pitman-Moore Company.
1961 Chairman and Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Texas Medical Branch.
1964 Consultant in Pharmacology and Toxicology, Texas Institute for Rehabilitation and Research.
1965 Died in Galveston, Texas.

COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

The Benedict E. Abreu Papers consist of various documents and correspondence pertaining to the Blake Society as well as Dr. Abreu's curriculum vitae, correspondence, and certificates of honor. A number of publications, reprints, and photographs are included also. The papers were given to the Moody Medical Library by Mrs. B.E. Abreu on April 1, 1987.
