Historical Background

Prior to the recodification of the Texas Penal Code in 1973, a substantial revision process was conducted by the Texas Penal Code Revision Project from 1965-1973. The Texas Penal Code Revision Project was a collaborative effort of the Texas Bar Association and the Texas Legislative Council. Included in this collection are documents produced for the Project.
