Biographical Sketch

Donald Terpstra has traveled to every Latin American country, excluding El Salvador and Nicaragua. He served as a Foreign Service Public Affairs Officers and variously as Press and Cultural Attache from 1983-2005. He traveled to Panama while in the U.S. Army in 1971-1973 and for Foreign Service in 2001-2003. He taught in Colombia from 1975-1977. He also traveled to Uruguay in 1984, Peru from 1984-1986, Chile from 1986-1990, and Bolivia from 1997-2000 for Foreign Service. He collected graphics and photos everywhere he could.

This is a preliminary inventory only, and additions are ongoing. The collection is currently unprocessed, but is available to researchers in the Benson Collection Rare Books and Manuscripts Reading Room.
