R. Joseph Rodriguez Papers, circa 1980s-2011
R. Joseph Rodriguez is a professor of English Education at the University of Texas at El Paso. He earned his bachelor's degree in 1997 from Kenyon college, his master's degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999, and his Ph.D. in 2001 from the University of Connecticut, Neag School of Education. His literacy and education research focuses on classroom and social context that informs students' learning gains through culturally responsive teaching and socially responsible biliteracies. His research has been published in various journals and books. He is an active member of the National Council of Teachers of English and the Texas State affiliate: the Texas Council of Teachers of English Language Arts.
