Biographical Sketch

Chicano Studies scholar Dr. Tomás Ybarra-Frausto received a Ph.D. in Spanish at the University of Washington in 1979 where his dissertation focused on Chicano poetry. He has taught at Stanford University, UC San Diego, and the University of Washington. He has published in various journals, books, and art brochures, and co-edited the volume Literatura Chicana: Texto y Contexto (1972).

Scope and Contents Note

Archival materials collected by Dr. Ybarra-Frausto include numerous subject areas and such as Chicano art and culture, particularly for San Antonio, Texas, and the Commission on the National Museum of the American Latino.

This is a preliminary inventory only, and additions are ongoing. The papers are currently unprocessed, but are available to researchers in the Benson Collection rare books and manuscripts reading room.
