Biographical Sketch

Gene George was born in 1922. He was pilot during World War II. He received a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University, and was one of the leading architects in the historic preservation movement, reactivating in 1961 the Historic American Buildings Survey in Texas. The Gene George Endowed Architecture Scholarship in Historic Preservation was established in his honor at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He passed away in 2013.

Includes framed photographs, drawings, and plans of Old Guerrero Viejo in the Falcón Reservoir, among other items. Full cataloging of the collection is incomplete, but it is open for research.
