Biographical Sketch
Peruvian poet Emilio Saldarriaga García was born in Talara, Peru, on October 6, 1928, to Santos Saldarriaga Ordinola and Eudoxia García Miñón de Saldarriaga. He was the author of numerous volumes of poetry, including Tu Amistad Es Mi Consuelo (1949), Versos Sencillos (1952), Dimension del Amor (1958), and Renacer (1967), among others, and the novela Los Amantes (1950). He was also the publisher of the literary journal Liberación (1956-1958). Saldarriaga García died on April 5, 1990.
Scope and Contents Note
Letters, typescript and manuscript written works, clippings, and photographs sent to or collected by Charles E. Revilla document the life and work of Peruvian poet Emilio Saldarriaga García. The collection preserves the original arrangment made by Revilla in three notebook binders of letters and works (volumes I and II), and clippings.
