George Rivera Papers
George Rivera is an artist, art critic and curator. He creates "ethnograms" which consist of text-based art referencing the Chicano experience. He writes about Chicano and Mexican art. He has curated exhibitions Russia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Spain, and throughout the United States.
The George Rivera Papers currently include exhibition catalogs, brochures, and press information on exhibitions from around the world curated by or otherwise involving Rivera. The collection is expected to increase significantly as more materials are acquired by the Benson Collection.
The papers are currently unprocessed, but are open for research. Please contact the Benson Latin American Collection archivist for more information.
