Merlin H. Forster Collection on Vanguardism In Latin American Literature, 1920-1988
Collection of articles on the avant-garde literary movements in Latin America, which includes material written about or authored by the proponents of most of Latin America's avant garde movements, such as: antropofagia, concretism, estridentismo, runrunismo and ultraismo. Photocopies of articles, arranged geographically by country, and alphabetically by author.
Compiled as a result of an 18 month grant from NEH during which Dr. Merlin H. Forster collected primary materials addressing the issue of vanguardism in Latin American belles-lettres from 1920 through 1935, as well as secondary materials since 1935. Most of the work is at the Benson Latin American Collection, with a secondary archive including copies of additional items collected but not included in author's Vanguardism in Latin American Literature (New York : Greenwood Press, 1990) which was the main purpose of the work. The second archive is located at Brigham Young University.
