<bioghist encodinganalog="545"><head>Biographical Sketch</head>
<p>Pedro Puerta was a Peruvian artist in the northern city of Trujillo. His art used mythological motifs from the Mochica pyramids, buildings, and pottery. He made prints on paper and cloth at his home print shop.</p></bioghist>

<scopecontent encodinganalog="520"><head>Scope and Contents Note</head>
<p>Three framed prints from Peruvian artist Pedro Puerta reflect the Mochica Indian culture of the artist's home. The prints were donated to the Institute of Latin American Studies by George Eckrich and Liliana Valenzuela.</p></scopecontent>
