<bioghist encodinganalog="545"><head>Biographical Sketch</head>
<p>James E. Long was resident director and general manager of the Guerrero Iron and Timber Company and the Guerrero Development Company of the State of Guerrero, Mexico, until the Revolution. During World War I he was appointed as Major in the U.S. Engineering Corps, and later as a Colonel he was the Purchase and Engineering Officer of the General Engineer Depot at Washington D.C. After the war he moved to Baltimore where he was in charge of the Weyerhaeuser lumber yard.</p></bioghist>

<scopecontent encodinganalog="520"><head>Scope and Contents Note</head>
<p>Two photograph albums totaling 403 photographs include views of the iron and timber industry in Guerrero, Mexico, and other views of Mexico before and during the Revolution. The photographs were taken by James E. Long, director of the Guerrero Iron and Timber Company at the time.  Also included are loose photographs, a letter, printed material, and a speech by Long.</p>
