<p>23 black-and-white photographic prints, 1985-1995, present scenes of African Latin Americans from Brazil (11) and Peru (12). The photographs are artistic as well as documentary, and show images of everyday life, labor, festival celebrations, and performing arts. The photographs are signed and dated on the reverse, and are part of Salcedo-Mitrani's portfolio "Africa's Legacy: Photographs in Brazil and Peru." The catalog to this portfolio is housed in the Benson Rare Books and Manuscripts reading room at call number -Q- F 2659 N4 S25 1995 LAC-Z.</p></scopecontent>
