The Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA) was founded in 1980 to support and promote Tejano music and musicians. A non-profit organization headquartered in San Antonio, Texas—the “Tejano Music Capital of the World”—the TTMA sponsors the annual Tejano Music Awards and other related events.
Awards show programs, financial records, photographs, audio tapes and videotapes, 1981-1996 (10 linear inches) document the Tejano Music Awards of the Texas Talent Musicians Association. The records are arranged in five series: Programs, Financial, Photographs, Videotapes, and Audio Tapes. Tejano Music Award show programs are the official programs (later called yearbooks) of the TMA awards shows in glossy publication form, with the exception of the 12th and 13th annual (1992 and 1993) show booklets, which are in unpublished form. One financial document is included, the Tejano Hits and Softball Festiball Financial Report, 18 October 1992. Ten photographs show scenes from the 1989 awards show. Eleven videotapes record the 2nd through 12th annual awards shows. Two audio tapes record the “Song of the Year” category nominees for the 15th and 16th annual TMAs (1995 and 1996).
