Biographical Note

Anthropologist and photographer. Born in Denmark in 1943, Heilskov Rasmussen lived in Mexico from circa 1974 until at least 1987. He worked at the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia in Mérida and did field work among the Maya Indians. During the years 1983-1987 he made the photographs which comprise this collection.

Scope and Contents

Photographs of architectural and artistics details of churches in Yucatán, Mexico. Five of the photographs are postcards.

The churches pictured are located in Ichmul, Dzibichaltun, Dzidzantun, Paraiso, Mani, Mérida, Tabi, Pustunich, Tixpéual, Tixcacaltuyub, Tixcuytún, Yascabá, and Yohtolín.
