            <p>
                The San Antonio Cremation Company was first organized on June 3, 1885, at a meeting in San Antonio, Texas. Prof. Rote was elected chairman and Otto Solms secretary. Two committees were appointed to draft a charter and bylaws. At the second meeting on June 17, 1885, trustees for the first year were appointed. By the third meeting on July 6, 1885, a charter from the Texas Secretary of State had been approved and the following were elected as officers: Dr. B. E. Hadra – president, M. F. Corbett – vice president, Albert Maverick – secretary, F. Groos – treasurer, and J. W. Mueller – cor. secretary. The last minutes in the records is dated March 4, 1889, but it is not known if meetings occurred after that time.
