Scope and Contents

The Fannie Hurst Literary File consists of 896 images (631 loose prints, 264 prints in 2 albums, and a photographic reproduction of a caricature, partially adhered to a piece of glass). Many of the loose prints are of Hurst alone, with various people including her husband Jacques S. Danielson, and/or with various pets. There are also numerous portraits of celebrities of Hurst’s day, many of which were autographed presentations to her. Further descriptions of some items are available in a card catalog in the repository.

This collection forms part of the Literary File Photography Collection, which is comprised of photographs and albums withdrawn from the libraries and/or papers of literary figures, and generally include portraits and images collected by or of those figures.
