The papers of Dr. Ann Bowden and Dr. William Todd document their academic activities, publishing projects, and work for The University of Texas at Austin at the Harry Ransom Center, English Department, and Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Included are drafts and proofs of works, such as Bowden's dissertation "William Hone's Political Journalism" (1975) and Todd's thesis "Lewis Theobald, Editor of Shakespeare" (1947) and dissertation "Procedures for Determining the Identity and Order of Certain Eighteenth Century Texts" (1949). Also present are research materials and bibliographies of Tauchnitz, Edmund Burke, and Sir Walter Scott; numerous offprints, tearsheets, and journals; and a small amount of correspondence, some with Harry Ransom.

Dr. Todd was the Mildred Caldwell and Baine Perkins Kerr Centennial Chair Emeritus in English History and Culture at The University of Texas at Austin, while Dr. Bowden served the Austin Public Libraries for over twenty years and, prior to that, was the first librarian of the Ransom Center when it opened in 1957. Both Todd and Bowden worked as researchers at the Ransom Center and were instrumental in helping the Center acquire the Gutenberg Bible in 1978.
