		<head>Scope and Contents</head><p>The papers of Bonamy Dobr&#x00E9;e consist of
		  typescript drafts of two full-length published works, prefaces and
		  introductions to other works, contributions to anthologies and encyclopedias,
		  literary articles, and book reviews. There are also four pieces of
		  correspondence sent to Allanah Harper between 1928 and 1931.</p> 
		<p>The two full-length works represented are 
		<title render="italic">Rudyard Kipling: Realist and Fabulist</title>
		(1967) and 
		<title render="italic">English Literature in the Early Eighteenth
		  Century</title> (1959). Among the prefaces and introductions are those for a
		new edition of 
		<title render="italic">The Lamp and the Lute</title> (1963) and 
		<title render="italic">Three Eighteenth Century Figures: Sarah Churchill,
		  John Wesley, and Giacomo Casanova</title> (1962). The contributions include an
		article on George Meredith for 
		<title render="italic">The Encyclopedia Britannica</title>; an essay on
		Jonathan Swift entitled 
		<title render="doublequote">The Jocose Dean</title> contributed to 
		<title render="italic">Fair Liberty Was All His Cry: A Tercentenary
		  Tribute to Jonathan Swift</title>; and an essay on Robert Smith Surtees
		published in 
		<title render="italic">Imagined Worlds: Essays on Some English Novels and
		  Novelists in Honor of John Butt</title>.</p><p>Articles on various literary
		  topics include 
		<title render="doublequote">T.S. Eliot: A Personal Reminiscence</title>; 
		<title render="doublequote">English Literature 1866-1966</title>; Sir
		John Vanbrugh; Jonathan Swift; and William Shakespeare. The book reviews were
		written primarily for the 
		<title render="italic">Yorkshire Post</title>, 
		<title render="italic">The Times Literary Supplement</title>, and 
		<title render="italic">The Times Educational Supplement</title>. The
		books reviewed are on a variety of subjects including Rudyard Kipling, Ezra
		Pound, William Shakespeare, John Donne, and Jonathan Swift.</p>
