The papers of Bonamy Dobrée consist of typescript drafts of two full-length published works, prefaces and introductions to other works, contributions to anthologies and encyclopedias, literary articles, and book reviews. There are also four pieces of correspondence sent to Allanah Harper between 1928 and 1931.

The two full-length works represented are Rudyard Kipling: Realist and Fabulist (1967) and English Literature in the Early Eighteenth Century (1959). Among the prefaces and introductions are those for a new edition of The Lamp and the Lute (1963) and Three Eighteenth Century Figures: Sarah Churchill, John Wesley, and Giacomo Casanova (1962). The contributions include an article on George Meredith for The Encyclopedia Britannica; an essay on Jonathan Swift entitled The Jocose Dean contributed to Fair Liberty Was All His Cry: A Tercentenary Tribute to Jonathan Swift; and an essay on Robert Smith Surtees published in Imagined Worlds: Essays on Some English Novels and Novelists in Honor of John Butt.

Articles on various literary topics include T.S. Eliot: A Personal Reminiscence; English Literature 1866-1966; Sir John Vanbrugh; Jonathan Swift; and William Shakespeare. The book reviews were written primarily for the Yorkshire Post, The Times Literary Supplement, and The Times Educational Supplement. The books reviewed are on a variety of subjects including Rudyard Kipling, Ezra Pound, William Shakespeare, John Donne, and Jonathan Swift.
