Frank M. (Mason) Good, born in England in 1839, began his photographic career as an assistant to his fellow countryman the photographer Francis Frith. Good is known to have been active during the 1860s and 1870s, and he had studios in both London and Brighton. He is best known for his stereographic photographs of the Near East, and it was Frith who sponsored Good's first trip there. Other geographic locations captured by Good include Spain, Greece, and the Isle of Wight.
</bioghist>

The Frank M. Good collection of photographic prints consists
of 1 albumen print by, and 15 albumen prints attributed by Helmut Gernsheim to,
the English photographer Frank M. (Mason) Good. Good began his photographic
career as an assistant to the English photographer Francis Frith, and it was
Frith who sponsored Good's first trip to the Near East. The majority of the
photographs in this collection are of the Near East, more specifically the Holy
Land, but the collection also contains two photographs of Athens, Greece. None
of the photographs bear dates, but they were most likely made between 1860 and
1870, a time period when Good was known to be active.

Other examples of Good's work can be found within the
Stereograph Collection, with an additional four albumen prints mounted in
