 Scope and Contents

The collection consists of manuscripts, galleys, and page proofs of books published by the Scorpion Press during the 1960s. Most of the materials contain emendations, either in the form of author's corrections, editor's corrections, or typesetter's marks. Authors represented include Kenneth Allsop, Taner Baybars, Christine Billson, Bertolt Brecht, Edwin Brock, Helen Woods Edmonds (pseud. Anna Kavan), Royston Ellis, Robert Greacen, Anselm Hollo, Jenny Joseph, Bernard Kops, George MacBeth, Harold Morland, Iris Rosalie Orton, Alfred Perlés, Robert Pittman, Peter Porter, Rosamund Stanhope, Shirley Toulson, Geoffrey Atheling Wagner, Eric Walter White, and Patrick Wilson.

When this collection was originally received between 1962 and 1966, it was accessioned into individual author collections. In 1997, all Scorpion Press materials which had not been cataloged in the interim were reassembled in order to accurately reflect their origin as well as aid contextual research concerning the press and their publications.
