Historical NoteEnergy services corporation Baroid Sales Company was established in March 1930 in Los Angeles, California, and later opened a second office in Houston, Texas during 1932. The company began as the merging of Cal Talc, A. J. Lynch, and National Pigment Chemical. Starting with just five employees, Baroid expanded into a multi-million dollar company. William H. Welch served as president from 1982-1987.
