Biographical Note

Thomas D. Horn (1918-1993) joined the faculty of the University of Texas at Austin in 1951 and served as professor of curriculum and instruction. He chaired the UT Department of Curriculum and Instruction for 11 years, and served as President of the Association for Student Teaching and the Association of Teacher Educators in 1957. Additionally, Horn served as editor of Reading for the Disadvantaged: Problems of Linguistically Different Learners, a book published by Harcourt, Brace and World, Inc. in 1970 that was written by 24 reading specialists, linguists, sociologists, and psychologists, ten of whom were UT faculty memebers.

Scope and Contents

The Thomas D. Horn Papers, 1977-1978, undated, are comprised of one reel-to-reel audio tape and eight videocassettes of Horn's classes and seminars at the University of Texas at Austin. The materials relate to language, communication, language research, and linguistics.
