Biographical/Historical Note

The Wing Commander Combat Information Center (CIC) was founded by Ben Lesnick (aka Bandit, LOAF, or BanditLOAF) in 1998 at the web address Since then, the site has become a hub for Wing Commander and Origin news, updates, collaboration, appreciation, and preservation. As of 2012, the site remains vital.

Scope and Contents

Paper records comprise primary design binders from various Wing Commander projects undertaken at Origin. Digital records comprise a 931.5 GB disk image of a hard drive Lesnick and others used to capture and scan floppy disks, CDs, photographs, and artifacts related to Origin, now stored at EA Mythic in Virginia. There are approximately 700 CD images and over 100 floppy disk images. Also included in the hard drive image is photographic documentation of Lesnick’s visit to EA Mythic. The collection also includes web crawls of the Wing Commander CIC website, where digitized Origin documentation, game player documentation and game patches, Wing Commander lore, and community news and activities can be found.
