Special items of note include a letter to Dr. Gloyna from Ben G. Streetman upon his appointment as Earnest F. Gloyna Regents Chair in Engineering and a letter recommending Gloyna to succeed Dr. Flawn as UT president, 1984. Newsletters, program books, and other printed material give insight into workings and events of the College of Engineering, and copies of publications, presentations, and reports document Gloyna's expertise in water resources, chemical engineering, chemistry, biological sciences, and public health. Books of UT College of Engineering Distinguished Graduates from the 1970s and 1980s, along with books of personnel records of graduating students from the early 1950s, can also be found.
